Connect Web Services for SOAP

New Site Feature: CX Features by Version matrix

Today I published a document that I've been working on for a while; my hope is to extend the benefit I receive to everyone else in the community. This document is a list of Oracle RightNow CX features by version. This will be a living page permanently in the left-hand navigation of CXDeveloper.com. As new CX versions are released, the document will be updated accordingly.

Mobile Client Considerations

More and more often, clients look for a way to integrate their mobile and web applications with their RightNow instance. The ability to connect end-users directly to the support infrastructure is powerful, but the standard tools RightNow provides don't quite fit the bill.

RightNow .NET Add-In - get logged in user info and trigger on read operations

Wanted to know if following is possible

1. From .NET Add-In control can we get who triggered the read/create/update or delete operation on account object?

say agent named "Jim" logs in to Right Now and updates the Account - i want to capture name - "Jim", what operation he intended "Query, Create, Update or Delete

2. I have created a rule in rightnow to call an add i when the account record is opened in an main editor. however the account infomation is not passed on to the Add-in as in case with Insert or update operations.

did i miss something or is it not possible?

im trying to build a read log for certain objects which does not have that capability currently.

also i would appreciate if anyone can post a code snippet or URL for inserting a record on to custom object in RightNow from Add-In (C#)

Thanks for any help

wsdl error: phpType is struct, but value is not an array

Hi,
While making a soap call, getting this error (wsdl error: phpType is struct, but value is not an array: see debug output for details). Looking at the debug log and error statement, it seems there is some issue while passing parameters in array to soap call.

Object Specific RN WSDL

Hi,
I have a typical requirement like:
Create an opportunity in RightNow from external application.
For this, I want to share the wsdl which would contain the tags/fields related to Opportunity object in RightNow to the external system integrators. I am clueless on how to generate and provide the object specific wsdl to the other SIs.

Setting custom fields via SOAP - The Better Way

After a fairly significant rant about the difficulties that go into setting a custom field or attribute on a base object
(Setting custom fields via SOAP) I figured it's past due to come up with a reusable solution.

I've created two extension methods for the base RNObject class: GetCustomField(string fieldName) and SetCustomField(string fieldName, object value, DataTypeEnum typeEnum).

Usage is dead simple:

Connect RightNow to Siebel using PHP Soap request

I am trying to call external WebService at the Incident create using attached code. But once i upload and test the php file in Process Designer, it is throwing below error:-

"Fatal PHP error on line 44 of incident_create\incident_create: Class 'RightNow\CPMObjectEventHandlers\incident_create\SoapClient' not found'

Force Reset and the SOAP API

This error/quirk was originally found by Ben, but I thought it was worth posting about just for future reference.
